The Small College Basketball National Hall of Fame Classic is the nation's most prestigious in-season event for NCAA Division II men's basketball. We are grateful that the event has been given an exemption from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2 CCA). As such, the games count in every way except against the limit of games that each team is permitted to play, and we may play the week prior to the official start date for NCAA Division II basketball.

The event includes a press conference, a panel discussion with the Hall of Fame Inductees, the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, a social event, and of course, the fantastic games of the Division II Classic, which annually features some of the finest programs within NCAA Division II basketball.

The event began in 2016, and was played in the beautiful Ford Center in Evansville, IN.  In 2018, the event moved to St. Joseph, MO, and the games were played at the St. Joseph Civic Arena.
