June 15, 2022

Kansas City, MO – Small College Basketball is excited to announce the University of Minnesota
Duluth Bulldogs have been added to the 2022 SCB Champions Classic. Minnesota Duluth is
replacing Queens in the Champions Classic. This inaugural event is hosted by Northern State
University and games will be held within Wachs Arena. Games will take place on November 18th and
19th, 2022. John McCarthy had this to say about adding Minnesota Duluth to the Champions Classic.

"We're really excited to have Minnesota Duluth participating in the Inaugural SCB Champions
Classic,” stated McCarthy. “They are a really good, well-coached team that went 25-6 last season,
and the Bulldogs return the whole core of their team. Coach Justin Wieck and his staff do a heck of
a job, and we're pleased that they will join us for this national showcase for college basketball."

Northern State University's Barnett Center and Wachs Arena is one of the premier NCAA Division II
facilities in the nation. The 8,000 seat arena includes an in-ground wood floor installed in 2019, a
center-hung digital videoboard/scoreboard, and digital score table displays. The scoreboard,
installed by Daktronics, is the largest collegiate center-hung video display system in the state of
South Dakota. Minnesota Duluth Head Coach Justin Wieck had this to say about the Champions
Classic:

“We’re excited to be invited to participate in the Inaugural SCB Champions Classic,” mentioned
Coach Wieck. “This is a unique event that brings together some of the best basketball teams in the
country. John McCarthy and SCB put on some of the top events in the country. It’s an honor to be
selected & challenge our team against two of the best D2 programs in the country. What a great
two days of basketball ahead.”
