November 14, 2017

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Small College Basketball is proud to announce a new venture that will join together people with the common passion of college basketball at the small college levels, as the organization announces the creation of the Alumni Association

Through the Alumni Association, it will create a community of current and former coaches, game officials, athletic administrators, contributors and former players at the small college level. It will provide a platform to unite people, both online and in person, with the common bond of college basketball.

"It is with great excitement that we announce the creation of the Small College Basketball Alumni Association,” said SCB Founder, John McCarthy. “The mission of Small College Basketball is to unite all people with a passion for college basketball at the small college levels, and to serve as ambassadors for the game. As such, the Alumni Association fits extremely well with the mission of Small College Basketball.

“It is such a thrill to create a platform whereby all members can interact, both online and in-person. Through the customized, highly-informative, interactive website, along with the Celebration of the Game event, we have created a platform that is tailored specifically to connect and inform members of the Alumni Association."

An Alumni Association membership includes a Monthly Newsletter which is released eight times per year, access to the Alumni Association blog, access to the member database and ability to communicate with members online, as well as complimentary admission to the annual Alumni Association social function, ‘Celebration of the Game’, among man other benefits!

“The development of an alumni association of players, coaches, referees and fans is a great step forward in connecting teammates and opponents for communication and camaraderie,” said Jim Poteet, Ed.D, SCB Alumni Association Committee Chairman.

“I am excited to lead the Small College Basketball Alumni Association Committee as we share in promoting the game that we all love.”

An annual membership is $75, while an annual staff membership for up to five staff members is $200 and a lifetime membership is $500.
